The place of art: Moncioni

7 Kms off from Montevarchi at the gates with Chianti, you can find the small village of Moncioni, famous for the panoramic view looking on the Valdarno Valley.

The village has very old roots; It dates back to the XI century. It suffered various historical events, passing from the Florentine to Sienese and Arezzo powers. Then it became part of the Conti Guidi territories in the XII century.

Nested on a windy hill (525 mts) Moncioni still preserves part of the ancient city walls and a central hub with inner narrow streets.

Just a few kms away from the village there’s one of the oldest Italian Arboretum: the Pinetum, which was established around 1850.
